Your First Sunday With Us
We know walking into a new church can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve been hurt before or you’ve never been to church at all.
Here’s what you need to know: you don’t have to perform, pretend, or have it all together. You’re already loved, and there’s space for you here exactly as you are.
What to Expect on Sunday
At The Beloved Church of Kalamazoo, our Sunday Gatherings are designed to help you be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did. We’re learning together what it means to follow Jesus in real life.
When you walk in, here’s what happens:
∙ You’ll be greeted warmly, but no one will put you on the spot or make you introduce yourself to the room
∙ Sit wherever you’re comfortable (we meet in an intimate space, so it feels more like a living room than an auditorium)
∙ Our gatherings are flexible, shaped by what God is teaching us each week. You might experience teaching, music, prayer, discussion, or a combination
∙ No dress code. Come as you are. Seriously.
∙ No pressure to give financially. We’ll never pass a plate or single you out. (If you want to give, there are ways to do that privately.)
∙ You can participate as much or as little as you want. Ask questions, stay quiet, engage when you’re ready.
We’re currently in our Foundation Phase, which means we’re building this community together. Some weeks feel polished; others feel like we’re figuring it out as we go. That’s intentional. We’re prioritizing depth.
Service length: About 90 minutes.
What About Kids?
We love kids and welcome families at our gatherings. Right now, we don’t have a dedicated children’s space (that’s coming as we grow), so children stay with their families during the gathering.
We know that can feel tricky, especially with young kids. Here’s what we want you to know:
∙ Your kids won’t bother us. If they need to move around, make noise, or step out for a bit, that’s completely fine.
∙ You’re not disrupting anything. We’d rather have you here with your kids than feel like you can’t come.
∙ We’re building toward dedicated children’s ministry as we grow into our next phase, but for now, we’re doing this together as families.
If you have questions about bringing your kids, reach out to Pastor Mo before your first visit. We’re happy to talk through what would work best for your family.
